Ishan Kishan prolonged absence will prompt the BCCI to issue a critical “Ranji Trophy” notice:

The positions of a few players on Team India’s roster have been the subject of intense conjecture over the last few weeks; Ishan Kishan in particular has received a lot of attention. Ishan has not played since November of last year, and he reportedly cited mental exhaustion when he pulled out of the South Africa tour midway through the following month.

Ishan Kishan’s lack of availability was a frequent source of frustration for India’s head coach Rahul Dravid last week. He explained that the player needs to get some cricket experience before he can rejoin the team. A report surfaced a few days later, stating that Ishan had resumed training in Baroda with the Pandya brothers, Hardik and Krunal.

It’s interesting to note that the youthful batter-wicketer did not declare himself available for selection in the Ranji Trophy for Jharkhand. Irfan Pathan, a former all-rounder for India, responded to the news earlier this week on his official Twitter account, saying he was “perplexed” by the player’s absence. It appears the board has also taken notice of the situation.
