David Warner has given his endorsement to Marcus Harris as Australia’s future Test opener. After a significant contribution in the opening stand, Warner supported Harris as his replacement in Sydney.

While acknowledging that selectors have the final say, Warner expressed confidence in Harris, highlighting his hard work and background presence. He mentioned Harris’s recent century against Pakistan for Victoria XI and emphasized that if the selectors trust him, he will perform well.Warner also praised Usman Khawaja, stating that Khawaja can continue playing for as long as he wants given his form and importance to the squad. Warner commended Khawaja’s mindset of playing every game as if it’s his last, indicating his commitment to the sport.

Addressing the controversy around Khawaja’s application to display a dove and olive branch on his gear, which was rejected by the ICC, Warner mentioned Khawaja’s resilience. Despite the rejection, Khawaja remained focused on cricket, and Warner encouraged him to stay true to his beliefs and continue playing the game.
